Chad Berry is vice president for alumni, communications, and philanthropy; Goode Professor of Appalachian Studies; and professor of history at Berea College. Earlier at Berea, he held the positions of academic vice president and dean of the faculty, director of the Loyal Jones Appalachian Center, and director of the Center for Excellence in Learning through Service. Berry has authored, edited, or coedited four books, including The Hayloft Gang: The Story of the National Barn Dance, Looking and Learning: Visual Literacy across the Disciplines, Studying Appalachian Studies: Making the Path by Walking, and Southern Migrants, Northern Exiles.
